Thunderduck joins Pro Staff PDF

Educated Angler is proud to announce that Team Thunderduck has joined the Pro Staff.  Some of you already know Captain Willis Kerridge, Thunderduck, from his involvement in the Lake Michigan fishery, seminars, tournaments, or maybe you’ve taken a charter trip with him out of Grand Haven.

Thunderduck is a great addition to Educated Angler.  The team represents both a strong passion for fishing and great community involvement.  Captain Willis has been charter fishing for 35 years, 28 as a captain, and operates Thunderduck Charters on Chinook Pier Grand Haven Michigan on his Tiara 3600 Open.

Captain Willis has an outstanding tournament record, participating in many ports along the Lake Michigan shoreline.  Over the last eight years his successes include:
  • Holland, MI: 1st Place – 3, 2nd Place - 2
  • Saugatuck, MI: 1st Place – 2, 2nd Place – 1
  • Wins in:
    • Grand Haven, MI
    • Muskegon, MI
    • Ludington, MI
    • Manistee, MI – Big Boys
    • South Haven, MI – Big Boys
  • Top 5 finishes from Michigan City, IN to Manistee, MI and Racine, WI

But it’s not all about tournament fishing, Thunderduck believes in giving back and being involved in the fishery.  Captain Willis is very involved with or held high level positions in:

  • Grand Haven Offshore Challenge (Co-Chair)
  • Grand Haven Salmon Festival
  • Lake Michigan Task Force
  • Michigan Charter Boat Association
  • Grand Haven Charter Boat Association
  • Grand Haven Convention and Visitors Bureau

Willis also has a daily radio show on WGHN and is fostering the future of the sport through Team Thunderduck by including some very strong young fisherman.
