I'll stop by the Comfort Inn again and check and make sure the "fisherman's special" still applies.

Once again, last year was a great time (once the wind laid down and the storms blew through on Friday) and if you could not make it, I would suggest that you try to do so in 2008.

I think it all went very well, with the exception that I sorta dropped the ball on the "big fish" contest on Saturday, which I was told upset a few people. For that, I apologize, as I guess the folks who were a bit peeved were gone by the time we came back in from fishing. If I hadn't forgotten to take the nets out of the back of my truck that belonged to Keith's boat...we would have been back at the dock much sooner.

For that, I apologize. Learning from that experience last year, I think it wise that we hold off on such a thing for this season. I guess the true premise behind this whole get-together thing was to first and foremost have fun with our friends (who we do not get to see nearly as often as we would like), fill the boxes with tasty walleyes, and lastly eat some great food and fellowship together.

A precautionary measure that would be good for all is to keep in mind that last year, due to the muddy water conditions in MI waters, the entire fleet of boats for the outing ran to W. Sister island to take their fish. This meant everyone had to purchase OH licenses...which are available at the marina store at TBM.

I'm in Keith, if you'll have me back on the Draggin' Flies. I had a blast with you guys, and am looking forward to this year as well.

I don't have an accurate count, but I think that with all the boats combined last year, well over 200 walleyes were taken to the table over a two-day span. The fishing was great...after we finally got to them.

LD will be pre-fishing as much as possible for the 7 weeks & 3 days between spring launch and the Smackdown

Well Mike if your going to be pre-fishing for 2 months then you won't need to get info from Ron and I this year. You should be putting me on the fish. I'll have any info you need on whats going on.

I hope the corner and swamp are hot this year for the Smackdown. The corner is great, dock to dock in about an hour. It's good thing.

Maybe this year I'll let someone else catch the big fish.

Home port advantage? We don't have any trailering with the boat planned until later in the season, so all our fishing will be out of TBM thru probably mid-July. Always willing to share info.

tenatively planning on it again this year. I have to work it out with the wife and child. Breanne's Birthday is the 6th, so need to get a birthday party in there and still be able to fish.
