Well, yesterday I put the trolling gear away and pulled out the old classics. You know, the famous bobber and worm combo. Shot out of Selfridge and went north just south of the salt. Set up in 5 fow and started catching some beautifull slabs on the ole setup. We didn't get started until the crack of 10am and called it a day at 1 oclock. Since I had my 3 year old and wife with me I was the only one really fishing, but we ended up with 30 nice sunnies/gills to go along with a dozen perch. It definately felt strange fishing like that but those buggers sure do taste good. Hopefully they stay in that area for awhile so I can get on em again. It also was my little girls first time on the boat and here is her first sunfish.

Now thats what fishing is all about now a days.We are planting alot of fish,so lets plant the seeds for our young anglers.I took my grand son (just turned 5)and caught a nice fat 20" wally.You talk about a fight for him.I let him have it after I took off the board.It took about 15 minutes.I was just hoping he could hang on.He did,but he sure was wiped out after that.

Thanks for the kind words. We must have done it right when we took her out, because she has been talking about it ever since, and asking when we are going again. I did get her a fish tank to teach her about the different species, and currently we have blue gills, perch, and a sunfish in the tank. Farley fish truck will be in my area in a couple weeks so i am going to buy her a crappie, a catfish, and a small bass. That should be enough to keep her busy for awhile.
