Went with fellow EA fishslayer and my son Tom to Duck lake in Highland township. We fished 22 fow and used minnows for crappie and wax worms for bluegill. The crappie bite was slow. We caught six and only 3 were 8 - 9 inches. Four came a foot off bottom and two at about 10 - 12 ft. down. We gave up counting the bluegill at 46. We could've caught a hundred. They were biting good but still most on the small size. For the first time this year we didn't get a pike. Nothing on the tipups. 14 inches of ice. Temp in the low 30s when we started at about 4:00 p.m. We fished until almost 9:00. Still great to get out again and beautiful night out on the lake. Quite comfortable and we were stripping down to street clothes in the shanty. Peace out.
