Lake Superior levels continued to track below average for September, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Currently, Lake Superior is about 9 inches below its long-term average level for the beginning of October and is about 5 inches below the level recorded a year ago.

During the past month, Lake Superior dropped by about 2 inches, while it typically drops about half that amount during September.

Meanwhile, the level of lakes Michigan and Huron is about 17 inches below long-term averages and 6 inches lower than a year ago.
