Fishing Report - Ohio

The steelhead trout fishing has been put on hold for most of the Northeast Ohio rivers and streams swollen by rain and snow melt.

Look for the Rocky River to be among the few streams that will be fishable today and through the weekend if rain and snow doesn't add to the run-off.

The night walleye bite has been spotty along the Ohio shoreline, but should improve over the next few weeks as water temperatures drop and bait fish move closer to shore. Some walleye are being caught, but anglers are finding hit-and-miss action and few limits. Some yellow perch have been caught from shoreline piers, including jumbo perch in the Lorain and Cleveland area.
