May seem a little chilly for most of us to be heading into the Maumee River this weekend, but a lot of dedicated fishermen are already up getting ready to catch a big one.

Dozens of fishermen packed the Maumee Tackle Fishing Outfitters to prepare before heading out to hit the mighty Maumee River. It's all part of the annual walleye run on the Maumee. The run kicked off last weekend. Hundreds of fishermen have already hit the waters this week and more are expected within the weeks to come as water temperatures rise.

The walleye run is when the walleyes return to where they were spawned every year around this time. The Maumee is known for its walleye fishing this time of year and many fishermen from surrounding states come to fish along the Maumee River.
